Ugh

According to slang... UGH is "Expression of disappointment or disgust" That about sums it up for me. Yesterday morning, we (being me, josh, alex and zack) were getting in the car to drive them back to California and pop goes my back. Heaven forbid I lean over (nothing in my hands) and my back live through it. I would rather give birth to a child, than have this happen again. I literally started screaming and my world went black, at least I was able to not pass out and fall.
Since, I cannot bend over, twist in any fashion, lift my legs, or walk in a gait any longer than a foot (thus I waddle) Going to the bathroom is quite the chore. I am learning how to hold my bladder for longer periods of time haha. Having a slipped disc sucks (which is what I started with)..but having that disc move to a new spot where a ton of nerves live..Sucks even more!
What's even more awesome, there is no way of fixing it other than surgery. Which they understandably won't do unless it's reeeeealy bad because back surgery is risky at best and is usually followed by several more throughout ones life. Lets just hope it gently moves where it is not killing me sometime soon :)

Oooops

Watching an old episode of Big Bang Theory while eating dinner and my seven year old, Adrianna, (quietly) walks in behind us and watches this section

Penny: (distraught that her ex moved on so quick) tells Lenard he was with another girl
Lenard: "That was fast"
Penny: "That's what I told the girl who had her legs around his neck" (while sobbing)

And then this little voice from behind us says...
 "Was she killing him!?"

I could only laugh...oh the innocence of childhood :D

I count myself lucky

Next time you think you have it rough, hate your job or just feel in a rut. Be thankful you don't have these jobs. And if you do, whatever you get paid...It is Not enough.

Armpit smelling. The white lab coats would not be enough to make me feel like a scientist

I honestly don't want to know what they are doing down that hole, but whatever it is...I'm sure it belongs on this list.

How do you get into this line of work? I hope my kid never gets up to graduation and says "when I grow up, I want to collect horse sperm"

I think I feel sorry for the elephant here

Are we having fun yet?

In honor of our recent trip of roller coaster fun..Some hilariously frightened people, enjoy

I think moms face is even more priceless...seen in many places, including the birthing room and the bathroom.

We went to Silverwood a few times as a kid, I don't remember being that scared :)

Looking fright in the face and saying "Come at me!"

This guy is either mentally handicapped..really scared..or playin it up. My vote is on option number 3

"You said this was going to be fun!"

Oh I need to get some of these of my kids. I know Adrianna had some funny faces going on

Ups and downs

We went to Castles and Coasters for Easter. (prompted by my sister Terri) Besides being it's usual tiring experience...it was a ton of fun. My sister brought her significant other (Chris) and of course her daughter (Alison)
First ride we go on was the lil' indy racetrack. Adrianna was just barely to short to drive but she could be my passenger. As we are going around and around she is screaming in my ear not to bump into anyone (as if I need to be told) and I am laughing that she is so worried about my driving skills. After all, I have never been in a car accident. So when we get behind this kid (about 9yr old) who's driving with his mother in the passenger seat. He looks behind and smiles a devilish smile at me, not allowing me to pass. Between him moving to get in front of me (no matter which way I go) and him slowing down in-between looking back at me with glares...I take my shot when he left a little room for me to get the front end of the kart through. Well...he veers left into my front end, trying to again cut me off but I don't let off the gas, causing him to do a cookie on the track and end up facing sideways with no way to get going again. I get two extra laps in on him while he is being pulled straight by the workers there. Karma at it's finest :) Ride finished, we pull into the stopping gate. I look over and Adrianna has this frightened look on her face as she whispers "I can't feel my body." I just could not contain myself, I was almost in tears while explaining to her that the kart vibrates a lot and she would be fine in a minute when she gets out.
One ride down...several more to go
Everything was pretty uneventful until we tried the zip rope. We all get strapped up in these harnesses and walk up to the top of a tower where they connect you to a zip line and basically push you off. Alora gets the hook on her harness, while the guy is trying to tell her to sit down so he can push her off until she looks over the edge. The one golden rule when dealing with heights...Never look down! And she did it. With eyes as big as saucers she puts on the breaks, screeching that she does not want to go. As the attendant unhooks her, the scene causes Adrianna to freak out as well. Trying to get the kids to calm down and see that it's ok, I go on my turn while Terri is convincing them that if I can do it, so can they.
In the long run, Adrianna (half laughing and half whining) made it across alive and Alison did it without much hoopla. Alora however, would not try it. So we go about the rest of the day, the lines are short and we were able to ride each several times. On the way out, completely exhausted and excited about getting home to relax...Alora just has to try the zip line again and face her fears. With the sun set the lines are growing with the seasonal pass people taking advantage of the cooler weather. After waiting for 45 minutes they get up to the top, (the adults holding down a bench below and watching) Adrianna, off without a hitch...Alison, so far so good...Alora...Looks...Down
Needless to say, we still have some latent fears to deal with
The whole trip was a laugh and a half and enjoyed by all :)

Hyper drive

The joy of birthday invitations...
My daughter (Alora, 12yr old) has been on hyper drive since yesterday because she has a party to go to tonight. She gets to sleep over, go swimming, (which she does every day in our back yard, but it was still said with the zeal as if she had never been swimming before in her life) and apparently it's the most exciting thing to ever happen. I have never seen her so pumped up, I'm thinking of calling the school and keeping her on watch for a heart attack. In this way, I am happy the invitation was given only one day in advance. Not sure she could have waited a week without exploding.
So of course this sends us into a frenzy last night. We had to get a birthday present and Alora was in need of a new bathing suit. We go through them fast in Arizona, they start to deteriorate from chlorine before you grow out of them. Of course, her little sister (Adrianna, 7yr old) could not be left out of the mix and needed a swim suit as well. So after a couple hours of shopping, a coffee for mom, and one destroyed dressing room later...we make it out alive with two perfect swimming suits and a birthday gift. Wonders never cease.
Now if only I had had a tranquilizer to make her sleep last night :)

My mind is Blown!

BDSM folks. The topic of the day in my religion and sexuality class. Let me tell you, it's a crazy world out there.
I think it's awesome that there are places for folks to go that are into the S&M scene, where they can have there fantasies/desires played out in a safe (as safe as this can be anyway) manor.
I had always imagined this dirty, cheap hotel where people often died because the "top" (pain giver) went to far. I do admit however, I am very naive in this area (less so after today) having not been very crazy adventurous in my life...yet anyway ;)  Sure, there are probably those problems around but not as prevalent as one would think.
They actually have places that host these get-togethers or clubs if you will.  They have very strict rules and have everyone register a safe word. The top and bottom have a detailed conversation about what the bottom is allowing, and the top must stop if the safe word is spoken. If these rules are broken they are black listed and shunned among the community. There are bouncers that enforce these rules and watch for ignored safe words.
After watching the video and seeing into there feelings of why they do this, I have to say, in the right situation (as mentioned above) I think (just my opinion) them getting there high and euphoria feeling from this natural endorphin release is safer and less harmful than doing drugs or alcohol. However, mix sex with a ton of random people into the party and that theory fly's out the window. That is very unsafe, risky business. This is not always the case though, some just want the pain given high.
Don't get me wrong, I could never participate in this kind of thing (top or bottom) It has simply opened my eyes to be less judgmental and more understanding of those who feel differently than I do.
Agree?
Disagree?
Questions?

Spontaneous

I am Not a spontaneous blogger. This will be my first post (because I am forcing myself) that I write and post when I'm finished. Usually...I keep it in the draft section to re-read a day or so later to make sure I still like it (I know, this is pathetic)

Without further adieu...Funny stuff!!!

This requires no caption...Laugh freely

And when a zombie bites Cat Norris, he does not turn into a zombie, the zombie turns into Cat Norris

This game of catch the water balloon is INTENSE!

This makes me wish I lived where it snows

Once upon a dream

Had the craziest dream the other night. I was in a hospital getting some kind of treatment for a mental problem (not exactly sure what for) well a guy walks in to give me a shot, and I back up asking what its for. He tells me its a muscle relaxer and I try to tell him that I don't need/want it. I back up until I am in a corner and he gives me the shot forcefully. I remember feeling very alone, and not sure why I was there.
I go to my abnormal psychology class the next day (odd class, which is probably why I'm having crazy dreams) and the instructor proceeds to tell us that she interprets dreams along with her therapist/teacher profession...and that gets me thinking. What on earth did my dream mean? Good ol' google came up with this for being injected with a needle
Clearly, a syringe could be a phallic symbol so your dream may be saying that you need to inject more enthusiasm into your sex life. Similarly it may be telling you to inject more fun, determination or enthusiasm into your life. Injections imply healing and protection so this dream may be showing you ways to become more psychologically fit. If you are injecting drugs it can show that you are addicted to a behavior pattern that may need to be modified.
Going to start the next paragraph by saying..I do not have a problem with injecting or any other form of drugs. Barring that, I would say I am enthusiastic and happy in my sex life. I think my life could use more fun. I do a lot of the typical go to school, come home, take care of kids, clean, chill out for awhile (nothing to exciting) sleep, rinse and repeat. I do have date nights with the hubby, those are awesome. So again, how much fun is "allowed" in ones life, and who determines this? I understand people have to work and be responsible.
Maybe it's the determination, I am pretty lax about figuring out what I want to go to school for. I am getting good grades and getting the basic classes done. I am narrowing it down slowly though.
The only true conclusion I can make of this, is my mind is warped and likes playing games on me. Yes...that must be it

Changing my Gender

In my profile I can have my gender as male, female, and not specified. I think I'm changing it to not specified. I think it will make me far more mysterious. But than again is gender really something you want to be mysterious about? Maybe..we shall see :)

And because this post is entirely to short...I leave you with this

Unfortunately, I have felt this way far to many times

Volunteering for pain

I would not consider myself a masochist..but for the betterment of perfect strangers, I signed up to be a blood marrow donor.  In all seriousness, I would love to help save a life. Yes there is time and recovery involved. Yes, you either get put out and marrow taken from your hip or your blood filtered through a machine to separate what they need while putting the rest back in you. O.K. there is discomfort from some medication you have to take for a few days before the blood filtering procedure is done but hey...can we say keeping ourselves from "volunteering for pain" is worth it? Not when a life is in the balance.
I guess all I can think about is the pain and suffering of the ones dealing with the cancer. I have not had a personal experience with it or seen someone go through it. But I can only imagine what a horror chemotherapy is. Not to mention what the entire family is going through waiting for help to come for there loved one, imagining life without them.
So that answers it. I am glad to help, I just hope they find someone in need :)

My addiction

I know...addictions are suppose to be kept secret. (I have never conformed to anything though) So here it is. I am a YouTube junkie. I can sit and watch video after video of ridiculous things, from funny videos Fail Video to how to do it yourself videos. (I wont bore you with a link of those) I even watch the sad ones about child abuse and such, awareness and knowing what signs to look for is never a bad thing.
I have learned what stupid things NOT to do..like jumping off of a house roof into a garbage can. However, I'm not sure I needed to see that to know better. Apparently some people are not aware of these things...so good job posters of YouTube, educating the world on the average stupidity of man kind. It's a dirty job but someones gotta do it...

My opinion people..gonna see it a lot up in here

I like the weekly show Dance Moms..I love the parts where the little girls do there routines and they are so amazing. But to get to that point in the show, and understand where they are and what kind of routine they are doing, you have to get through all the draaaaaama.
It is pretty amazing how horrible the adults are, and these kids are just sitting around watching this. Not to mention the tyrant of a dance instructor, yelling...yes yelling, at the top of her lungs at these kids when there toes are not pointed correctly. I think what makes these kids so great (besides raw talent) is what the instructor (Abby) is telling them, the corrections she is giving, repetition, and good choreography. Abby just needs to change how she is doing it. She could give the same instruction, and maybe even get better results (cause the kids won't be so nervous around her) if she simply said what to do/correct nicely, and then had them do the things they are having trouble with, several times in a row to perfect it the right way.
Call me crazy but I get a lot more from my kids with positive reinforcement. All of these kids are going to need some form of therapy at some point in there lives to get over how they are treated and what they witness from the adults in there lives. Case in point...Last episode she told a seven year old, "If you forget it, don't come back in here, cause I'm gonna cut your head off." With no joking in her face or voice. Wow...is all I can say.
This of course is just my opinion...and they are just like ass holes, everybody has one and they stink.

Out of the mouth of...Adults?

I am taking a very interesting class called Religion and Sexuality. I needed to fill the humanities slot with something and this sounded the most interesting. Well it has proved just so. So far topics have been...
Sexual identity and the social construction of it.
Reinventing sex: New technologies and changing attitudes.
History of sex, from ancient civilizations to modern times.
Where we think we are in today's world in terms of conservative or liberal attitudes and behaviors.

I have been shocked to see how the attitudes have fluctuated throughout history regarding sex because of what was going on around the world. For example: During world war II they deployed 12 million of our men over sea's. And because of the women entering the work force in droves, there was a lot of hanky panky going on behind the scenes. Meanwhile, the solders are also having there fun learning all kinds of new things from the foreign ladies and contracting some lovely venereal diseases. Well when the war ended..along with the men came new idea's about how sex was done.
To make a long story short, society does have a huge role in how the world perceives our body's natural urges. We have been going from conservative to liberal and back again, for centuries.
I added a link to a very interesting video about body types and sex appeal.
Sex appeal video

What are your thoughts on any of the above subjects?
